Pneumococcal vaccination programme

From 1st July 2025 a number of changes are being made to the childhood immunisation schedule. Information about changes affecting other vaccines is published in the Changes to routine childhood immunisation programme: 2025 and 2026.

From 1 January 2020, the infant vaccination schedule for pneumococcal vaccine (PCV) is changed

All babies born on or after 1 January 2020 will receive their first dose of PCV with their other infant vaccinations at 12 weeks of age and a booster dose of this vaccine on or after their first birthday.
