These grants support woodland creation across England. They provide financial assistance to farmers, landowners and land managers to plan, plant and establish new woodland.

Woodland management and tree health grants

Grants to help woodland owners protect, manage and maintain trees. This ranges from general woodland upkeep to specific tree health interventions.

Tree production and seed sourcing grants (currently closed)

To support sector capacity, there are grants to increase and diversify domestic production of high-quality trees and seeds. This helps to ensure a sustainable seed supply and source.

Grants and incentives for trees outside of woodland

Outside of woodland, there are grants to support tree planting and establishment within urban, peri-urban or rural settings.

Carbon incentives

Innovation funds (currently closed)

The Woods into Management Forestry Innovation Funds support the development and testing of new ideas to improve the ecological condition of woodlands and their resilience.
