Consultation description

This consultation seeks views on HSEā€™s revised approved code of practice ā€œManaging and working with asbestosā€.

The proposed draft consolidates the 2 existing approved codes of practice on asbestos (L127 ā€œThe management of asbestos in non-domestic premisesā€ and L143 ā€Work with materials containing asbestosā€) into a single document.

The approved code of practice has been revised in response to Professor Lƶfstedtā€™s independent review of health and safety legislation ā€˜Reclaiming health and safety for allā€™. The consultation aims to establish if the changes make it easier for employers to understand and meet their legal obligations.
