Medicines and Devices Advertising Liaison Group

The Medicines and Devices Advertising Liaison Group (MALG) brings together regulatory and self-regulatory bodies involved in medicines advertising.

The Medicines and Devices Advertising Liaison Group (MALG) brings together regulatory and self-regulatory bodies involved in medicines advertising.

The group generally meets twice every year and includes representatives from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and:

  • the Advertising Association
  • the Advertising Standards Authority
  • Clearcast
  • the Committee of Advertising Practice
  • the Proprietary Association of Great Britain
  • the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority
  • the Radiocentre
  • the Health Food Manufacturers’ Association
  • the British Herbal Medicine Association

The remit of the group is to discuss current issues and areas of common interest in medicines advertising regulation. The aim is to promote a common interpretation of the law on advertising medicines and high and consistent standards in advertising regulation.
