Civil news: immigration contract changes from 1 January
Providers need to be aware of changes relating to immigration and asylum work which are being introduced on 1 January 2024.

Detained Duty Advice Scheme
Two main areas of change from 1 January 2024 relate to the delivery of advice surgeries for immigration detainees under the Detained Duty Advice Scheme (DDAS).
- ability to remotely conduct Detained Duty Advice Scheme (DDAS) surgeries
- detention travel and waiting time can be claimed for in-person DDAS surgery attendances
