Minister for Africa arrives in Angola
"Britain has a significant role to play in Angolaās social and economic development and Iād like to identify the areas where we can work together, for our mutual benefit" said Minister for Africa Henry Bellingham at the start of his 4 day visit.

āI have been hearing a great deal about all that is being achieved in Angola and have come to see for myself how it is being done. I believe that Britain has a significant role to play in Angolaās social and economic development and Iād like to identify the areas where we can work together, for our mutual benefit.
āBritain is already a major investor in Angola, and British companies are already involved in many areas of the economy, such as oil. I would like to use this visit to find new areas where British investment can complement the work already happening.
āAngola is an important partner for the UK and we would like to work more closely together on tackling regional conflicts, issues such as climate change and human rights, and much else. I hope to have the opportunity to discuss many of these subjects during this visit.
āBritain and Angola have a huge amount to learn from each other. British Parliamentarians visited in September and Iād like to see cooperation between Westminster and the National Assembly move ahead. It is clear that both countries can benefit from such exchanges and visits.
āDuring my visit I will be meeting Angolan Ministers, representatives from the British and Angolan the private sector, visiting the National Assembly and seeing some community development projects which have British involvement.ā
