Research background
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Employer Survey was designed to gather evidence from employers on their policies, awareness and attitudes in relation to a range of topics of interest to DWP. The topics covered in this survey are:
- health and disability in the workplace
- recruitment, retention and progression of staff
- engagement with government employment schemes and wider engagement with DWP
- older workers
- pension provision
- groups who may be disadvantaged in the labour market
- diversity of the workforce
- flexible working
These reports present the findings from the second wave of a two-wave survey. The 2024 survey was conducted with 8,006 employers in Great Britain between February 28 and April 25, 2024. Fieldwork and primary data analysis was independently conducted by IFF Research.
Contribution to the evidence base
The first wave of the Employer Survey was conducted in 2022 DWP Employer Survey 2022.
Research value
Findings from the survey are being used to inform policy development across DWP by allowing the department to understand and monitor employer behaviour and practices.
