This guidance is for anyone who governs or manages an academy trust including:  

  • academy trustees and local governing committees 

  • academy trust leaders, including academy trust accounting officers and chief financial officers 

  • school and academy trust business professionals (SBP) within the academy trust including staff in financial roles  

  • governance professionals who support and advise academy trustees in their role 

  • dioceses for schools with religious character
