Charges

Application fee for an abandoned mine methane access agreement or coal bed methane single site access agreement or area variations to existing access agreements:

  • £5.75 per hectare
  • Minimum £575
  • Maximum £2,875 (maximum area of 500 hectares)

Application fee for a coal bed methane blanket access agreement:

  • £5,750 (maximum area equivalent to petroleum licence)

Application fee for a coal bed methane supplemental access agreement (following grant of blanket access agreement):

  • £1,150 (maximum area of 200 hectares)

Application fee for other types of variation to an abandoned mine methane access agreement, coal bed methane single site access agreement, coal bed methane blanket access agreement or coal bed methane supplemental access agreement:

  • £575

Grant fee for an abandoned mine methane access agreement, coal bed methane single site access agreement, coal bed methane blanket access agreement or coal bed methane supplemental access agreement or any variation to existing access agreements:

  • £575

Annual fee for an abandoned mine methane access agreement, coal bed methane single site access agreement, coal bed methane blanket access agreement or coal bed methane supplemental access agreement:

  • £575

Payments for coal or rights in relation to coal:

  • Abandoned mine methane access agreement – site specific valuation taken for new production holes only
  • Coal bed methane single site access agreement – site specific valuation taken for new production holes only
  • Coal bed methane blanket access agreement – none
  • Coal bed methane supplemental access agreement (following grant of blanket access agreement) – site specific valuation taken for new production holes only
